【摘要】:1ThispartofBS598specifiesamethodfordeterminingthesusceptibilityofbituminousmaterialstoplasticdeformationathighroadtemperaturesunderpressuressimilartothoseexperiencedontheroad.Themethodappliestoanybituminouswearingcoursemateriallaidatanominalthicknessofupto50mmandiscarriedoutonsamplescoredfromlaidandcompactedmaterial.2Thetestisusuallycarriedoutatatemperatureofeither45℃or60℃,butothertesttemperaturescanbeused.NOTE1Forresearchpurposes,itmaybenecessarytodeterminethewheel-trackingrateoflaboratory-preparedandcompactedmixtures.However,thisrequiresacarefullycontrolledanddetailedprocedureforspecimenpreparationandcompaction,whichisnotincludedinthisstandard,butwhich,itishoped,willbedescribedinafutureDraftforDevelopmentNevertheless,withthenecessarychanges,thismethodcanbeusedforlaboratory-preparedspecimens.NOTE2PrecisiondatadeterminedfromexperimentsaregiveninannexA.
