【摘要】:Thispracticeallowsthedeterminationofthedepthatwhichtheresistancetopenetrationofapushedordrivenrodincreasessharply.Whentheoverlyingmaterialispeatandtheunderlyingoneismineralsoilorbedrock,thedepthofchangemaybeinterpretedasthethicknessofpeat.Successivearealdeterminationsofthisdepth,incombinationwithsurfacemeasurementsofthelateralextentofpeatwillallowcalculationofthevolumeofpeatinthedeposit.1.1Thispracticeusesatechniqueofprobingtoestimatethethicknessofsurficialpeatdepositsoverlyingmineralsoilorbedrock.Theseestimatesmaybeneededforenergy,horticultural,orgeotechnicalpurposes.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.3Thispracticeoffersasetofinstructionsforperformingoneormorespecificoperations.Thisdocumentcannotreplaceeducationorexperienceandshouldbeusedinconjunctionwithprofessionaljudgment.Notallaspectsofthispracticemaybeapplicableinallcircumstances.ThisASTMstandardisnotintendedtorepresentorreplacethestandardofcarebywhichtheadequacyofagivenprofessionalservicemustbejudged,norshouldthisdocumentbeappliedwithoutconsiderationofaproject''smanyuniqueaspects.Thewordx201C;Standardx201D;inthetitleofthisdocumentmeansonlythatthedocumenthasbeenapprovedthroughtheASTMconsensusprocess.
